Nature Talk and Tour: Salmon Bay Park

Join EarthCorps and the City of Seattle's Parks Commons Program to learn about the ecology and history of Salmon Bay Park! Best known for its well-loved playground and rolling grassy hills, this neighborhood park is also home to native habitat right in the heart of Ballard.

The Basics

This event will start with a presentation by EarthCorps Volunteer Specialists who will talk about the positive impacts of urban green spaces, the history and establishment of Salmon Bay Park, and how to identify the native species in the park.

The presentation will be followed with a walking tour around Salmon Bay Park with EarthCorps' Ecologist to further explore and chat about the plants and ecology of the park.

This is a great event for anyone who wants to learn more about their local park, practice their plant ID skills, and connect with others over their love of park spaces!

Meeting Location:  Loyal Height Community Center  2101 NW 77th St, Seattle, WA 98117  -- the presentation will take place at the community center and then we will walk to Salmon Bay Park (~10min walk)
