Development Coordinator

About EarthCorps

At EarthCorps, we believe that we’re part of something bigger. We believe that we have a collective responsibility to care for each other and nature, and that we need new ideas and boundless enthusiasm from across the globe to create a better world where people and nature thrive together.

That boundless enthusiasm shines through our Corps Program. Since 1993, more than 1,000 young adults from across the US and 80 countries from around the world have come to Seattle, Washington to participate in an environmental leadership development program. These emerging environmental leaders make up our Corps Program, where they learn technical environmental restoration and hands-on leadership skills, all while building a close-knit community through caring for our natural world.

EarthCorps truly embraces the “think globally, act locally" concept. The lands and waters of Puget Sound are our classroom and our legacy. Corps members learn leadership and cross-cultural skills by working collaboratively, leading thousands of community volunteers each year, and executing technical environmental restoration projects including salmon stream restoration, native tree plantings, invasive plant removal, wetland and shoreline restoration, and trail construction around the Puget Sound region.

After the yearlong program, these young leaders return to their local communities and cities with the tools, skills, and enthusiasm needed to tackle the pressing issues of our time – including climate change, pollution, and ecological degradation– to create a better world for all of us.

Position Summary

EarthCorps is seeking a full time Development Coordinator to help build and deepen relationships with donors, volunteers, and homestay hosts. As a member of EarthCorps’ tiny but mighty development team, the Development Coordinator will play a key role in expanding our impact and connecting community members to our mission. This is an ideal opportunity for an emerging fundraising professional who wants to participate in the many different aspects of a successful fund development program including events, administration, volunteer engagement, and communications.

We are a highly collaborative and supportive team that is very externally focused. This is an exciting role for a team player who enjoys having a lot of variety within their job and who thrives when involved in many different projects. We are looking for someone who is as comfortable talking to a supporter on the phone as they are in developing content to share in a newsletter, and who can find satisfaction in administrative tasks like bulk mailings. Although 75% of this job is directly related to donor relations and operations, 25% of time will be spent actively stewarding and cultivating volunteers who give their time doing environmental restoration, as well as homestay hosts who host our international participants.

This position will report to the Development Manager. Given current restrictions, this position will begin working remotely and will be provided with technology and other accommodations to work from home. When it is safe to return to the office, this position will be based at our office in Seattle’s Magnuson Park, with flexibility for continued remote work.

We encourage applicants from all racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and functional limitations to apply, especially those from historically marginalized communities.
