Working With Volunteers Workshop (Part one): Duwamish River

As part of our Puget Sound Steward program, we are offering workshops to give community members a deeper knowledge of environmental restoration. This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more, with hopes that participants will keep coming out to volunteer with us!

The Basics

This is part one of a two part workshop.  This first portion will be an in-class seminar where participants will learn and discuss the basic protocols and procedures for leading successful volunteer restoration events.

By the end of part one of this workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the importance of doing restoration with community members
  • Identify the elements of a polished and positive restoration experience
  • Navigate EarthCorps' protocols to schedule and organize their own restoration events if they choose to become a steward.

Part two of this workshop is the following Saturday (7/20). This portion will be field-based to continue building on the concepts learned on Thursday with hands-on practice! If you are only able to attend one portion of the workshop, let us know at volunteer@earthcorps.org
