Join the Corps (International Applicants)

The following information is for:

• International Environmental Organizations
• International Citizens (Non-U.S. Citizens)

EarthCorps brings together emerging environmental leaders from around the world to participate in an environmental service program. EarthCorps programs focus on physical hands-on field service that includes:

• Environmental restoration
• Community building
• Leadership

This is not a classroom or workshop – 80% of the program is in the field, in all weather conditions and requires participants to be very physical.

Program Description:
(40 hours a week, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm) Participants take part in environmental restoration projects, such as tree-planting, trail construction, stream restoration, and invasive plant removal. Projects are located throughout Washington State.

Benefits:
EarthCorps international participants will receive:
• a monthly stipend
• health insurance
homestay family

EarthCorps charges no fees for international participants. Some financial assistance from EarthCorps may be available in the form of an airfare scholarship. Any scholarship will be provided in reimbursement form after participants arrive in Seattle. Scholarships are based upon several factors, including a participant’s financial need, and the total need for the entire incoming international group.

Desired Qualifications:
• Between 18-28 years old
• Experience in environmental field work and intercultural exchange
• Commitment to community service and previous experience in volunteer service

Required Qualifications:
• No Criminal Record
• Conversational English
• 4 year college degree and 1 year of work experience in the environmental field*
-OR-
• 5 years of work experience in the environmental field*
*Please note that EarthCorps is required by the US government to ensure that every applicant meets strict criteria in order to qualify for a US J-1 Trainee visa. You must have a university degree in an environmental field and/or environmental work experience to qualify.
